Here at Cambridge Counseling Clinic, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 1985, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Counseling Clinic upon: support, empowerment, and progress.
The Cambridge Counseling Clinic is a complete and thorough clinic offering a variety of professional services designed to provide the most effective care for each client. We have built a clinic that provides counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children who are in need of local mental health services.
When Jacquie Schuh and Deb Sullivan opened the Cambridge Counseling Clinic in 1985, the goal was to provide quality mental health services to rural counties. Both worked for Jefferson County Human Services, so they understood the needs of the area.
Fast forward 35 years and that goal still remains their North Star.
Co-Director - Adult Mental Health Specialist
I began working with adults and families at Jefferson County Human Services in 1978. While there I developed programming that focused on trauma issues for women.
In 1986 I joined Group Health Cooperative SCW providing treatment to adults, couples and families. During this time I also co-founded the Cambridge Counseling Clinic in order to provide counseling services to rural areas as well as the Madison area.
Today I continue to practice in Cambridge with an emphasis on treating adults with a variety of concerns, in particular trauma. After many years of practice I continue to enjoy my work with clients who have made this such a worthwhile career.
Co-Director - Adult Mental Health Specialist
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Professional. I’ve been fortunate to have many professional opportunities in a wide variety of settings. In addition to being in private practice for over 35 years, I worked for a County Human Services Department, a Correctional facility, Immigration Customs Enforcement Center and in a variety of other settings focusing on mental health treatment for children and families.
Areas of expertise:
My focus is to form a partnership with you as you identify personal strengths to build on and barriers that are getting in the way of you being your personal best. I approach my work with curiosity and compassion. My diverse experiences have provided me with a practical and effective toolkit of resources and strategies to address your concerns.
With over 20 years of experience, I understand that families grow and develop over the years, causing many changes. Every experience is unique, so when I work with children, I use an individualized approach tailored to each new client's unique needs.
Areas of Expertise:
I graduated from Edgewood College with a degree in Child Life and then from the University of Arizona with a Masters in Social work.
I’ve worked in various settings and with diverse clients, including both long-term and brief interventions.
